Manage the procurement operation for all direct materials for the Region. You will be responsible for managing key vendor relationships and leading supplier interaction in order to achieve the best results by means of negotiation.
A major focus of this role will be understanding commodities, pricing, managing complex relationships with long term partners, and as well as managing complex data such as packaging trends, data exchange and global pricing indices.
You will develop and implement short- and long-term procurement strategies designed to reduce costs and improve quality and service while meeting company’s goals and objectives and works closely with company staff to ensure these measures are achieved;
Demonstrates commitment to customer service, working as part of the team to ensure the right products are delivered at the right time and at the right price.
Good experience in sourcing promotional items for FMCG products from various suppliers worldwide while ensuring quality, price & acceptable lead times.
Establishes and maintains vendor databases.
Anticipates company needs and requirements by keeping abreast of market and product trends and developments;
Negotiates with vendors for the lowest costs and incentives and analyzes market price and checks for competitiveness;
As team manager, coordinates the achievement of cost savings through vendor selections and review, develops favorable contract agreements and resolves delivery and billing problems;
Excellent negotiation skills
Graduate with a minimum of 5 years in a procurement /supply management function, preferably involving purchasing of items in a FMCG business.
The ideal candidate will also have strong commercial skills, with demonstrated competency in the establishment and negotiation of sound contract terms and conditions and the ability to understand product design, components and materials.
